Nelson Bay Rock n Roll Club inc. was started from an idea by Mike McKenna, to start a Dance Sub Club of the Nelson Bay RSL Club. (now Wests Nelson Bay).

Mike and Anne McKenna, Keith and Diana Barnard, Sue Hughes and Cliff Morgan, formed a committee and started promoting the club. Keith and Diana are now qualified and teach for the club. The club grew very quickly and has averaged ninety members each year.

Nelson Bay Rock n Roll Club is a not for profit incorporated club. The aim of the club is to promote Rock n Roll dancing, other styles of dance and socialising.

Nelson Bay Rock n Roll Club attends other dance clubs events, and organises club social activities. Socialising on Friday and Saturday nights when suitable dance bands are available.

• Every Tuesday night 7pm is lesson night by our qualified teachers.
• Every Wednesday night 7pm is club night for dancing and socialising.
• Occasional Rock 'n' Roll Band Nights and usually two DJ nights a month.
• Every Tuesday morning, weather permitting, there is a Kayak group.
• Every year we organise a group to go Cruising.
